Day 1: Marrakech → Aït Benhaddou → Ouarzazate

Depart Marrakech after breakfast. The route climbs through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (≈2,260 m), stopping for panoramic views. |

Continue through Berber villages and oak/cedar forest lands. Option for a short refreshment break in one of the small towns along the pass. |

Arrival at or near Aït Benhaddou. Lunch in a local restaurant or at a kasbah guesthouse. |

Guided visit of Aït Benhaddou—its ksar walls, winding alleys, UNESCO-listed architecture. Possibly climb up to viewpoints for sweeping views over the plains. Then proceed toward Ouarzazate. Along the way visit the Atlas Film Studios where many international movies have been filmed. |

Arrival in Ouarzazate. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in a comfortable hotel or riad in Ouarzazate. |
Day 2: Ouarzazate → Return to Marrakech

After breakfast, visit the Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate—a beautiful example of southern Moroccan kasbah architecture, with its towers, mosaics and internal courtyards. Also free time to explore local markets (“souks”) or optional visits (museum, local cooperatives, etc.). |

Lunch in Ouarzazate or en route during the return journey, depending on schedule. |

Drive back toward Marrakech through the High Atlas via the same Tizi n’Tichka pass. Stops for photos, viewpoints, possibly a stop in mountain villages to meet locals, see traditional life. |

Tips & Suggestions
- Best time of year: Spring and autumn have pleasant temperatures. Summer can be very hot through the pass, winter may bring snow in the High Atlas (sometimes Tizi n’Tichka may be difficult).
- What to bring: Layers (mornings/evenings are cooler especially in the mountains), sun protection, water, hat, camera.
- Optional extras: Stay in a traditional kasbah (for more authenticity), add a hike near Aït Benhaddou or in the mountains, or include lunch with a Berber family.
