Journey to Tassa Ouirgane (1,500m) in the Ouirgane Valley, where we begin our
trek to Tiziane (1,800m). Our route takes us through the juniper and redwood forests of the Tassa National Park and along the beautiful red-soiled Azzadene Valley. As we pass out from the forests there are stunning views of the surrounding mountains and we encounter small isolated hamlets and villages.
Our path takes us out of the Azzadene Valley and up to the pass of Tizi ‘n Touati, from where there is a majestic panorama of the High Atlas range. We then descend through a forest of oaks and past villages with stonewalled sheep pens. Overnight camping near Tizgui at Azib Assoul (2,300m).
We cross the Tizi ‘n Tagoudalte pass (2,700m) from where we have views of the western High Atlas mountain range. We then have a long descent through alpine areas overgrown with wildflowers and herbs, and follow a river past terraced fields and groves of walnut trees, to the village of Tizi Oussem (1,900m). Free afternoon to relax or explore the village. Overnight in a gite.
Trek to a small waterfall at Azib Tamsoulte and return to cross the Tizi ‘n Mzik pass (2,500m). We join the main Toubkal valley at Aremd (1,900m), where we spend the night in a village gite.
Today we gradually ascend the Toubkal valley, via the pilgrimage hamlet of Sidi Chamarouch, to the Toubkal Refuge (3,200m). We camp at the foot of Mt Toubkal.
We leave before dawn, following a well-worn itinerary at the top. If the conditions are good it should not take more than 2-3 hours to reach the summit, where we enjoy an unobstructed view of the Anti Atlas range and the plains of Marrakech beyond. Returning to the base camp, we descend quickly enough to the villages of Sidi Chamharouch, before following the Mizane River, along a well wooded trail, until the beginning of the trail in Imlil.
I went on this tour with my friend. The taxi driver picked us up at our riad, which was very nice. The driver, Jamal, was funny and gave us some moments to make pictures. Our tour guide, also Jamal , was very sweet and kind. For us the whole experience was unforgettable. Lovely people with very rich hearts!

Left Marrakech to visit Imlil Village, our guide, his name is Hocaine is the famous and friendly tourist guide we've met.. every body knows him..he's from this small Berber village who lead us up the mountain where we had a delicious Moroccan traditional lunch. Thanks to those people we met for making this trekking extra special. You guys rock!! The whole experience was absolutely awesome!.
An amazing day with breathtaking sights and unforgettable experiences. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide that went the extra mile for us to construct a bridge from stone when the path was flooded from rain the night before.
