Day 1: Marrakech → Aarouss → Ikkis
Depart early from Marrakech toward the Central High Atlas, passing through Azilal. From there you drive up to the Tizi n’ Tirghis pass (~2,600 m), continuing to Aarouss — the trailhead for the M’Goun trek. The hike begins through the Arouss Valley, reaching the Ikiss pasture (2,300 m) where you camp overnight.
Day 2: Ikiss → Plateau de Tarkeddit (≈ 2,900 m)
After breakfast, head up toward the Aghri Pass (~2,400 m), passing by nomadic sheepfolds and in summer perhaps encountering nomadic herders’ camels. After ~3h of hiking you arrive at the Aghri Pass, with views of M’Goun. Then descend (~2h) to Plateau Tarkeddit where you will enjoy a picnic outdoors. Afternoon is relaxed: siesta or optional short walks. Overnight camping at the plateau. Walking for the day is about 5 hours; moderate difficulty.
Day 3: Tarkeddit Plateau → Summit of Mount M’Goun (4,071 m) → Izabin (~2,800 m)
This is the most demanding day. Those who prefer not to do the summit can follow mule tracks to the next camp (~2 ½ hours). For those summiting: depart at dawn, carrying enough water (minimum ~1.5 L), gloves, warm coat, hat, walking sticks are strongly advised. The route begins gently (~1h30), then becomes steeper & rockier (~2h30), then you reach the ridge (~1h30) and finally the summit. At the top, enjoy majestic views over the High Atlas peaks, the Valley of the Roses, and the Saghro massif. Picnic on the summit, then descend (~2h30) to the bivouac camp. Very long day (~8 hours walking); strong difficulty.
Day 4: Izabin → Ait Said → Marrakech
After breakfast, the trek continues with a short descent and then ascent (to the Asdrm pass ~2,400 m). From there descend toward Aarouss Valley, have lunch under walnut trees, then drive back by vehicle to Marrakech. Approx ~4h walking + ~4.5h drive.

I went on this tour with my friend. The taxi driver picked us up at our riad, which was very nice. The driver, Jamal, was funny and gave us some moments to make pictures. Our tour guide, also Jamal , was very sweet and kind. For us the whole experience was unforgettable. Lovely people with very rich hearts!
Perfect day trip, best food, waterfall, scenery and most of all GREAT value for money! My only nag was the car we we travelled to and from was not clean and long crack on windscreen!
It has been an amazing experience in Imlil. Left Marrakech to visit Imlil Village, our guide, his name is Hocaine is the famous and friendly tourist guide we've met.. every body knows him..he's from this small Berber village who lead us up the mountain where we had a delicious Moroccan traditional lunch. Thanks to those people we met for making this trekking extra special. You guys rock!! The whole experience was absolutely awesome!.
An amazing day with breathtaking sights and unforgettable experiences. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide that went the extra mile for us to construct a bridge from stone when the path was flooded from rain the night before.
