Discover the magnifcent Atlas mountains and hike to its amazing villages.

The valleys are home to tiny hamlets and villages of the ethnic Berbers, a herding and farming community. Visit their homes and interact with them to know more about their traditions and customs. See their terraced fields of corn and barley and get a glimpse of their day to day living...

Easy trek across tree High Atlas Mountains Valleys starting from Marrakech, spending one overnight stay with a berber family and enjoy their culture, lifestyle …

DAY 1

Marrakech - Oussertek.

Departure from Marrakech by minibus towards the town of Tahnaoute and the village of Asni through the Ghighaya gorges. After Asni we take the small road which runs along the valley of Ait Mizane and meet our muleteer and his mule towards the village Imi n'Oughlad 1355m then start of the hike, by the small pass of Amsker 1650m. Descend to the village of Imsker, picnic towards the wadi, and then climb to the valley of Ousertek passing through different villages: Tinghar, Tidilli. Climb to the village of Gliz 2100m: situated on a rocky ridge, it offers a beautiful view over the whole valley and the mountains of the Atlas. Dinner and night at the inhabitant. 5 to 6 hours of walk. 900m of climb of ascent and 300m of descent.

DAY 2

Oussertek - Amsakrou - Oukaimeden.

After breakfast, we cross the small pass of Ttizi n'Gliz at 2300m and then descend to the beautiful valley of Imnane. From one village to another we walk along this beautiful valley as far as the village of Tamgiste, and begin the ascent to cross the Tizi n 'Eddi pass at 2900m. We descend to the plateau of Oukaimeden, we rejoin our vehicle and then drive to Marrakech through the Ourika valley. 6h of walk, 1100m of climb of ascent, 400m of descent.

imlil-trekking.com invites you to experience a different face of Morocco. Just 1,5 hours drive from Marrakech you enter another world, another time. Leaving behind hot and busy streets, crowded souks and hooting cars High Atlas Mountains greet you with breath taking views, green oases, rivers, waterfalls and shadows under age-old nut trees.  Laughing children pass by, muletiers load their donkeys and Berber women already put on fire for mint tea and Berber tajine.  .

  • Beautiful scenery and nice guide. We were picked up in Marrakech exactly at the agreed time and were driven to Imlil by a good driver and your car. We were met by the guide and went for a short daytrip of about 4 hours and lunch home at the guide. Good Moroccan food.

  • 3 days 3 valleys tour We had such a wonderful time on our 3 day tour of the valleys around imlil and the surrounding berber villages. It exceeded our expectations. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were cooked wonderful food throughout the entire 3 days, and the accommodation provided everything we needed. We couldn't recommend imlil trekking enough.
